    1. Re: [DAVIDSON] John Davison
    2. I have never connected myself to the KY Davidson family, but in the recent posts the Leeper name caught my attention. Do you know anything about Hugh Leeper who married Mattie Davidson? I have an Elizabeth Davidson, born 1761, who married a John Leeper. John Leeper was the son of Nicholas Leeper and Mary (last name unknown). Elizabeth and John Leeper are buried in Smith Cemetery -- north of Belmont, North Carolina. A relative (who died many years ago) had old family papers that showed a George Davidson had his signature on some land grants given to one of my early John Davidson(s). This was before I became interested in Davidson research and have no other information about the land or the people. Nor am I sure which John Davidson had business dealing with George Davidson. Over thirty years ago, I was told George was a "cousin." However, the name George Davidson was not carried down in my family line. My resource for this information is no longer available to anyone. All the papers were burned. Sad!! My oldest John was born in 1721. Elizabeth Davidson Leeper was his daughter. Her brother (my direct line) was John Davidson born 1761. Even though Elizabeth and John had the same birth year, I don't believe they were twins. I have never brought this up before today -- because I have no information at all to substantiate a relationship between George Davidson of KY and my John Davidson (Pennsylvania to South Carolina -- and after the children were older they moved to different states -- some to Illinois and North Carolina. My John Davidson moved to Georgia.) Anna Gayle
