Kathy, this is just another point for clarification on the Davidson and Leeper "connections.". There was also an Elizabeth Davidson who married a John Leeper. Based on DNA results, however, this Elizabeth Davidson was from an unrelated Davidson family versus the Martha Davidson who married Hugh Leeper (though both Davidson families had "ties" to Pennsylvania). The Davidson/Davison/Davisson DNA results website page http://www.tqsi.com/davidsongenes/results.php shows the overall Davidson family that included the above Martha Davidson (a daughter of the George Davidson who married Mary Woods) as "Family 1," and it shows the overall family that included the above Elizabeth Davidson as part of "Family 3." This Elizabeth Davidson was apparently the daughter of a John Davidson (born about 1728 in PA) and his wife Tabitha (possibly Tabitha Porter, as I understand it). I have done very little independent research on the Leeper family, but based on some "family trees" on RootsWeb World Connect, it appears that James Leeper and Margaret (POSSIBLY Margaret Thompson) had several children, including Nicholas Leeper (who married Mary Unknown) and Andrew Leeper (who married Jean/Jane Thompson, daughter of Hugh Thompson). Nicholas Leeper and his wife Mary Unknown had the John Leeper who married Elizabeth Davidson, and Andrew Leeper and his wife Jean/Jane Thompson had the Hugh Leeper who married the unrelated (per DNA) Martha Davidson. The above Hugh Thompson (died about 1757 in Augusta Co., VA; he was married to an Eleanor Unknown) was the apparent brother of the William Thompson (died about 1781) of the Beverly Manor area of Augusta Co., VA. A grandson of William Thompson named David Thompson married Sarah Paxton, and I note that a William Paxton was a witness on the 1825/1826 will of George Davidson in Lincoln Co., KY. This George Davidson/William Paxton "connection" is probably just indicative of the "Augusta Co., VA background" of both families. Bill Davidson
