Yes, Abner did have siblings. _http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/Dky.html_ (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/Dky.html) _http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/Dzjohnporter.html_ (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/Dzjohnporter.html) Try the second web site first. You have to figure out how to navigate the site but it doesn't take long. And I am not just trusting the information on this site. I have done the research myself and this info is accurate. In fact I think my name is mentioned there somewhere as a "source." Good luck and I hope you enjoy the site. Helen
Helen (and others), It appears that we have FOUR Davidson families associated with Grainger Co., TN in the early 1800s: Like the Alexander Davidson family that went from Gloucester Co., VA to Spotsylvania Co., VA and then to Barren Co., KY (see "Family 8" on the DNA website...members/donors 29638 and 21985), the family of your John Abner Davidson family was also in Gloucester Co., VA (per the Internet chart, which you stated that you have verified). Note: This John Abner Davidson married a Nancy Porter in PA, and member /donor 62929 in "Family 3" on the DNA website has another John Davidson (born 1728) who MIGHT have married Tabitha Porter in PA (but I know of no "blood connection" between these two John Davidson families....but who knows)? Per the Internet chart, the family of John Abner Davidson was in Grainger Co., TN, and that was his descendants named Abner D. Davidson who married Anney Evans there in 1802 and Alexander Davidson who married Patsey Smith there in 1804. The William Davidson who married Hanna Oaks in Grainger Co., TN in 1804 is shown on yet another "Internet family tree" to have been out of the family of James Davidson (born 1715 in PA) and Mary Bean. This James Davidson is said to have been the son of a John Davidson and an Elizabeth Unknown. That was one of two known Davidson families that were in Guilford Co., NC in the late-1700s, but the William Davidson from this family apparently found his way to Grainger Co., TN at some point....if that chart is correct. There were also several others in this family who married in TN in the 1800s, though I don't know that it was in Grainger County (see the chart on this family at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/Dzjamesbean.html). A descendant of Blaine/Blair Davidson who married Dorcas Cunningham in Grainger in 1800 was a DNA match to the Abner Davidson family out of Campbell Co., VA ("Family 7" on the DNA website; probably the family of James Davidson, Senior, who came to Bedford/Campbell Co., VA from PA; note: the DNA results from the descendant of Blaine/Blair Davidson have not yet been moved into "Family 7" on the DNA website...the last time that I looked, anyway). "My" Goulder Davidson and David Davidson were also in Grainger Co., TN in the early-1800s (see DNA members/donors 44723 (me) and 63327 in "Family 10" for representatives of this overall Davidson family), so that brings us to a total of four "potentially unrelated" Davidson families in Grainger Co., TN.
