There was a James Davidson/Davison from PA in Bedford Co., VA by at least 1779, and his apparent sons James Davidson, Junior and David Davidson both married Cochrane sisters in Bedford in 1779. Another son named Samuel Davidson documented in his Rev. War pension application that the family was from PA.
