This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Davidson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FNR.2ACEB/3237 Message Board Post: I am a descendant of Hezekiah Davidson of Albemarle and then Cumberland Co., VA (where he died in 1793). My DNA is a "perfect" 25/25 marker match to a descendant of Josiah Davidson (born 1766 somewhere in VA, per a later census). This Josiah Davidson was later in Guilford/Orange Co., NC (where he joined the Rev. War), then KY and then Hickman Co., TN. Records indicate that this Josiah Davidson was the apparent son of a William and Elizabeth Davidson (who were also in Guilford Co., VA with Josiah and his siblings). I have always suspected that "my" Hezekiah Davidson MIGHT have been related to the "primary" Davidson family that was in Buckingham Co., VA in 1761 when that county was created from a part of Albemarle Co., VA (headed by possible brothers named Edward, David and William Davidson). With the new DNA results, I now wonder if the father of the above Josiah Davidson was perhaps from Buckingham Co., VA . There were three William Davidsons on the 1764 Buckingham tithe list, and one of them was the apparent son of David Davidson (and the apparent brother of yet another Josiah Davidson who died in Appomattox Co., VA in the 1850s in his 80s). If anyone has information that would "connect" the William and Josiah Davidson who were in Guilford Co., NC, and later in Hickman Co., TN, back to Buckingham Co., VA, please let me know. Thanks! Note: The Josiah Davidson from Buckingham who died in Appomattox Co., VA in the 1850s was born close to the same time as the other Josiah Davidson (1766-1767), so I am concerned that some people may have incorrectly "mixed" them in their research.
