    3. I have a George Newton Davidson in my tree. My George Newton Davidson (b. 1/11/1836-d. aft. 1910) married Nannie J. Newsome on 8-10-1866 in Bedford County, TN. This George Newton Davidson was a son of David Vance Davidson and Sarah Caroline Hall and appears to have spent most, if not all, of his life in Bedford and Giles Counties, TN. This George Newton Davidson's grandparents were Hugh Davidson and Jane Vance Davidson. The name "George Newton" most likely comes from a Presbyterian minister named George Newton who was very active in the Buncombe County, NC area where George Newton Davidson's family lived before settling in that area of TN. Rev. George Newton had also relocated from Buncombe County, NC, along with several Buncombe County families, to the Bedford and Maury County, TN area. Hope this is of some help.
