My gr-grandfather was married twice I believe, I know for certain he had a son or step-son that went by the name Gus and I have a picture of him and I think I may have his complete name. I think he was a step-son....not certain. I believe my gr.-grandmother to be the second marriage. Her name of JoHanna (spelled in census Joe Anna) Lawrence that was supposedly born in Kentucky. The reason we didn't know all family member was because my gr-father Abner Hall Davidson, was left with nine young children to raise. Of course, they helped raised each other. My father was born in Trenton, Tn., Gibson County. I never got to know uncle Gus, but I knew uncle Park, and Uncle Guy and Uncle Charley, all my great uncles. Let me know, I am so excited! We were very close to the great uncles Park and Guy that lived in Memphis, Tennessee. To make things worse for my family lineage search is that my grandmother, Abner Hall Davidson's spouse, died during her last (9th) child birth! So on that side of the family I hit a brick wall also. She too was left an orphan and reared by an Uncle. He grandfather William C. Robertson left his entire estate to her which was pretty hefty but by the time.....well you can imagine the rest. We just might be related and more closely than I ever imagined. I know that there is surely a way for us to find Uncle Charley's family (as in descendants perhaps), Uncle Park's daughter is still alive and I spoke with her recently she lives in Memphis, which isn't far from where I grew up. What is your e-address, please send to my e-mail address and we will continue. I have been to Salt Lake City, Utah, Mormon Library, it was wonderful but I was new at this, spent two wonderful weeks there fumbling around and wasn't working on the Davidson's. About four years ago I went to the Nashville, Tn. Archives and that is where I found my grandmother Laura Fleming Davidson's name as Laura Fleming Phelan in William C. Robertson's will. I plan to return to the archives since my mother I was caring for that had vascular dementia and passed away March 13, of recent days. I have been to the Trenton, Tn. courthouse and I plan on returning. I have been to the Memphis Library and I was working on another family name at that time. [email protected]
