I just saw that you, too, will be taking the DNA test AND have chosen to do the 59 marker. Connie Davidson Dage has done the same. Connie and I "think" we are from the same family. Our first ancestor (gggggrandfather) was from Pennsylvania -- then South Carolina. Then our ancestors split -- her Davidson went to Illinois after the American Revolution and his brother (my John Davidson) went to Georgia. Which company did you use? I went through FamilyTree and used a 37 marker. I cannot remember who on this research group suggested the above to me. Now, I am second guessing myself. I bought the kit for my brother -- maybe I could still call and pay the extra for the 59. When I ordered it, my understanding is 37 was all I needed. My brother (John E. Davidson from Florida) will be doing it for me. Please tell me what you think -- and anyone else connected to the FamilyTree project -- would love to hear AGAIN from you, too. Anna Gayle DAVIDSON McClure
Anna Gayle, The Davidson surname project uses Family Tree DNA to do our testing and analysis. Everyone should be using them. Here is the web address for ordering kits: http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=Y70310&special=True&projecttype=S If you want to upgrade you need to log into your personal site. Remember, when you send in your sample to the lab for analysis, to sign the permission form. This is what will allow your data to be compared to other people's data. john.
