The below information is about my great grandfather, William R. Davidson, and his children. Please let me hear from you, if you see a connection. William R. Davidson's parents were David and Susan Caroline Davidson of Troup County, Georgia. I do not know the maiden name of Susan Caroline (Carrie). However, I have been told that Elizabeth Henderson is the given and maiden name of the mother of Susan Caroline. William R. Davidson's grandfather was John Davidson of Jasper, Co Georgia. John was born in Pennsylvania -- moved to Union District, South Carolina as a boy. After the Revolution, he moved to Georgia. His wife is unknown. Note: DNA Davidson tests confirm this Davidson family is directly related to William and Samuel Davidson from Union District, South Carolina. William, Samuel and John Davidson were brothers. John left South Carolina for Georgia. William and Samuel left South Carolina and settled in Mt. Zion, IL. William and Samuel married same named cousins -- both Elizabeth Mayes. WILLIAM R. R. Davidson is on the 1850 Troup County, GA census with mother and father Census: W. R. is on the 1860 and 1880 census with wife and children. Note: W. R. and Mary lived in Chambers County, AL next to Troup County. I have not located William R. Davidson in any Georgia or Alabama 1870 census. Church Records: In 1860, William and Mary Davidson joined the West Point (GA) Presbyterian Church. CHILDREN OF WILLIAM R. AND MARY DAVIDSON: MARTHA C. DAVIDSON -- called MATTIE Born: 17 Nov 1858 -- Georgia Died: 10 June 1934 -- Woodlawn Cemetery in Ocala, Florida -- next to her children and her brother Major Robert Emmett Davidson. Married: 07 Feb. 1884 in bride's house at West Point, Georgia. Service by Rev. Bruce Spouse: CHARLES J. JUHAN Census: 1900 Florida Census says she is widowed, living with her two daughters, one son and her brother, David Elmo Davidson. He was widowed at the time. JOHN SIDNEY DAVIDSON Born: 23 May 1860 -- Georgia Died: 14 January 1932 -- Buried in Troup County Married 05 March 1884 Wife: SARAAH C. FORMBY LIZZIE M. DAVIDSON Born: about 1863 -- Georgia ROBERT EMMETT DAVIDSON -- Major in Spanish-American War Born about 1865 -- Georgia Died about 1940 -- Woodlawn Cemetery; Ocala, Florida next to his sister, Mattie. DAVID ELMO DAVIDSON Born: 05 May 1868 -- Georgia Died: 19 Jan 1940 -- Lone Oak Cemetery -- Leesburg, Florida Married: 14 Dec. 1887 in Alachua, Florida Spouse: LOUISE B. HARRISON ZACK DAVIDSON -- may have been called Zach or Jack Davidson Born: about 1871 -- Georgia Census: 1880 census shows he is living with parents and siblings in Blufton, Chamber County, Alabama. Note: Only other information comes from an old newspaper article about his brother, David Elmo. In the article he is called Col. Zack Davidson of Texas and Gabbettsville, GA.
