Annette, Those Davidsons who married into the Ditto family are believed by some to have been out of the Davidsons who were in Henry/Patrick Co., VA (with some family members across the state line in Stokes Co., NC). Some members of this family were then in Grainger Co., TN before moving to Alabama. I believe that this family in Henry/Patrick/Stokes/Grainger came from the Davidsons who were previously in Goochland Co., VA in 1746 and Buckingham Co., VA in 1764 (per tithe lists). If the above was, in fact, the correct Davidson family that married into the Ditto family in AL, then they were NOT related to the Davidsons mentioned in the other post who were in S. W. GA before going to AL (the DNA from the descendant of that S. W. GA family "connects" to a different Davidson/Davison family back in VA). Do you know of any living male Davidsons from the above family in Alabama who might be willing to join the Davidson/Davison/Davisson DNA testing project? Thanks! Bill Davidson
