Hi, Normally, I would be responding to a message board posting by posting at the message board. However, as the List Admin, I happen to know that the person who posted this message is a subscriber. ;-) But let me remind again, that when you see a message that comes from a Message Board like this one, you need to reply to the Message Board. Also, I have been alerted that with the new Mailer program, I have to approve all of these messages before they hit the list. At least until the software is fixed... So, they will not post to the list as quickly as they had in the past. Now... to the genealogy... This is a famous document in Davidson genealogy. This John is claimed by several families; however, I believe that the weight of the evidence is that he is the John Davidson who was the early settler of Iredell County, North Carolina, and whom we have come to name as "Importation" (or Import) John. Here is what I have on him. Be sure to look through the notes that I have recorded. http://www.lislefamily.org/davidson/tng/getperson.php?personID=I00397&tree=davidson_main There is more at the Davidson research site. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/davidson.html john.
