    1. Re: [DAVIDSON] Davidsons in AL-About 1818 and Beyond
    2. Bill Davidson
    3. Terry, I think the William Davidson in Johnson Co., MO was the William Davidson who was born in TN in the late-1700s and who married a Bigham woman in Lawrence Co., AL in the 1820s. I note from the 1850 MO census that this William Davidson had a son named Nathaniel Davidson (and there was also a Nathaniel Bigham living with them), but I don't know if there was any connection between this family and the much older Nathaniel Davidson who was over in Lafayette Co., MO, as I recall. It appears that no one has determined the parents of the William Davidson who married Miss Bigham in AL. Was the Daniel Davidson that you mentioned the one who married Mary Enochs or was this Daniel Davidson someone else? I don't know if the Daniel Davidson who married Miss Enochs was even in Barren Co., KY, but I found one mention of him in a post on the Barren Co., KY message board on RootsWeb. The Enochs family was in NC, and maybe VA before that, and they were also eventually in KY....to date, no one has proven the parents of Miss Enochs' husband Daniel Davidson.....though one lady has been researching him for MANY years. Daniel Davidson and his wife Mary Enochs were on the 1810 census in Jefferson Co., Ky. I don't know "whose" Daniel Davidson had a son named Albert J. Davidson. Note: There was also a Daniel Davidson in Perry and Clay Co., KY (there were two or three men in this family over the years who were named "Daniel"). This family was out of a James Davidson family up in VA (see "Family 8a," donors 22069, 31039 and 62154, on the DNA website). The two "primary" Davidson families in Barren Co., KY in the early to mid-1800s seem to have been: 1) Alexander Davidson-The one who came from the family of the earlier Alexander Davidson in Gloucester Co., VA and later in Spotsylvania Co., VA; this overall Davidson family married into the Ellis family on a couple of occasions, as I recall; there was an Albert Davidson in this family, but his middle initial was "B"....for "Bishop," as I recall; there does not appear to have been a Daniel Davidson in this family who was born nearly early enough to have been the father of the Albert J. Davidson that you mentioned, and 2) Young Davidson-The one who came to Barren Co., KY several years after the above-mentioned Alexander Davidson. Young Davidson was out of Campbell Co., VA, and he was almost certainly not "blood related" to the above Alexander Davidson (though Young Davidson had a son named Alexander, as I recall). I suspect that Young Davidson was from the same overall Davidson/Davison family as David Davi(d)son and James Davi(d)son, Junior who married those Cockrane sisters in Bedford Co., VA in 1779 (but no proof). I see no evidence of a Daniel Davidson in the family of Young Davidson. I know nothing about the David Charles Davidson/Charles David Davidson that you mentioned. Bill
