Both of these Davidson/Davison families had several members in Buckingham Co., VA in the early-1800s. This test, along with a separate test on a descendant of a Micajah Davidson who was born in Buckingham Co., VA around 1808 (who also matched "Family 7"), seems to also prove that the John Davidson who was on the 1810 Buckingham census was a member of "Family 7" versus "Family 10." The John Benning Davidson of "Family 10" left Buckingham and moved to "next-door" Cumberland Co., VA with his father Charles Davidson in the 1780s or so. I had thought that the John Davidson on the 1810 Buckingham census MIGHT have also been John Benning Davidson, but it now appears that John Benning Davidson never returned to Buckingham (he may have died in Cumberland Co., VA before the 1810 census there, or he could have left the area all toge! ther by 1810).
