Samuel was born in Anderson County, TN and son of Wm & Anna Nickle Davidson. This William is believed to have been the son of Samuel and grandson of Colonel Wm Lee Davidson of Morgan County TN. One Wm Davidson purchased 640 acres North of the Clinch in 1788 but did not live on the land until @ 1800. He sold his interest to his sons, Samuel, Joseph JAMES, and Mosias Jones Davidson. Does anybody recognise these Davidsons. Rev Wm R Davidson lived and had a Cumberland Presbyterian Congregation near Shelbyville in 1903. I don't know but I assume the Colonel had land in KY as he did in TN. Wm R wrote to my Ggf, Rev John Henry Davidson who was a Circuit Rider in the Oak Ridge/Powell/Wheat area of Knox and Roane County as it was near the 640 acres purchased in 1788.
