    3. Nancy, My experience in ordering California Death Certificates, if you are in a hurry, is to order them from the COUNTY and not the state. I have ordered a few from various counties and had a copy in a week. If I were to order from the State, I was looking at a 4-6 week turnaround. Also, I always check imdb.com about movies when I am looking for details. They have a LONG list of actors in the movie and none of them are John Calvin Davidson (There is a Max Davidson but that is someone else.) or Calvin Emery. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029499/ There was a Calvin Emery, but it was not your person either. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0256285/ And there is no record of anyone in their database being born on 31 Aug 1913 who fits your description. I did some searches on ancestry.com In 1938 voter rolls for Los Angeles County, John C. Emery Davidson, living at 716 N. Irving Blvd, was listed as an Actor and registered as a Democrat. In 1940, I found a John Davidson, actor, Democrat, at 1836 N Kingsley Dr I could not find anything afterwards that might match but the search engine for the voter rolls is not great. I could not find anything else obvious. I would suggest calling the LA Times or some large newspaper in Riverside county and so if you can find an obit or other article about his death or accident. john. 3. I think the part was so small that his name was not listed. The article says he was a cadet in that movie but wound up on the cutting room floor on another movie. I think he did a lot of "stand-in's". I did order the vhs of the movie Rosalie just so I can try to find him given I know the scene he is in according to the article. I am working with someone in Calif. and I will ask the info about which County it is and do it that way. Thanks for your help. 3. Nancy, If you look at the IMDB page on the move and expand the cast at the end of the list, you will see that researchers have added lots of uncredited names to the cast list. Back then, unlike today, very few of the cast or crew actually got screen credit. However, extras would almost never get any credits. If you do find him and do see that he had a speaking role, then you should contact the IMDB people so they can update their records. The county for his death was Riverside county. There is no question about that from the CA Death record. You contact the county clerk or whomever does this in Riverside county and give them a credit card and you should have you death certificate in days. The reason I suggested looking for a death notice or an obit is that there should be more to his life that they might give. Those you may need to help with, but you know his date of death now so finding any newspaper record will be easier. I have no doubt that the 1938 voter record is him. I have less about the 1940 record. However, a voter record is going to be in his legal name which was John Calvin Emery Davidson. or some contraction of that. He could not use a stage or professional name on those records unless he legally changed the name. john.
