I think it is possible that John S. was the son of Jesse Davidson, son of Thomas and Sarah, of Dickson County. Jesse Davidson is found on the 1860 Pope, Illinois census. According to records related to distribution of Sarah Davidson's estate in 1867 the descendant's of Jesse are listed as J.S. Davidson, George Davidson (present in Pope, IL), William Davidson (present in Pope, IL), Thos. Davidson (not located in 1860 but other records suggest he was of Denton, TX and a Thos. Davidson of Tenn does appear there in 1870), and Isabel Broadway, formerly Davidson (present in Pope, IL). I hope that you receive this message!
