Perhaps it can give me info on my ancestors maiden name(Elizabeth). Samuel Davidson was a son of William Davidson and his first wife Sarah____. William, b 1727 (Roots FGS states VA?) William m. 2nd Elizabeth McCrea (widow) 23 Feb 1792, Lexington, Rockbridge Co. VA. She had three listed children from her first marriage - to Joseph McCray (McCrea) who d. intestate in 1785. Her dau, Sarah "Sallie" m. her step-bro, John Davidson, 6 Jan 1801. Her bro. Joseph McCray, b 23 Aug 1785 Rockbridge Co. VA and d.27 1848 in Ohio. He m. Sophia Burford. Their son, Joseph W. McCray, was my gr-gr grandfather. (Also FGS on Roots). When Joseph and Sophia moved to Ohio they sold land to Matthew Davidson, his step-bro. Will attempt to make a copy of the Bible.
