Hi Everyone and Happy New Year to All, I am Laroice Davidson, Family 4, Kit #88694. I was thinking it would be nice if all the members of Family 4 could get to know each other better and then I thought of Facebook. Would that not be a great place for us all to meet as friends and share pictures, stories and advances in our research? I don't mean it as a place or way isolate us from others on the Davidson list, of course that would be dumb, but rather just another way for us to get to know each other. Facebook is really easy to get on. I would like to hear from any of you that are interested. Also was wondering if anyone on Facebook knows of a way to create a separate account just for our group. I'm sure there are some folks already on Facebook sharing with other family and friends. Anyway if you are related in anyway to Davidson family 4 or just interested in working with family 4 and staying touch please post your reply here. Laroice, I think that is an excellent idea to use Facebook. What you want to want to do is create a Face Book group. Real simple... setup whatever rules and then people can leave posts and articles and photos. I think a FaceBook group is better than a blog or a yahoo like group because you will find that sharing pictures will be an important aspect of the group. I would not make it a closed group as you want to be able to find new members of the group. A lot of the help on that will come by writing a strong intro. Please feel free to link to our DNA site as www.davidsongenes.org as it will be moving shortly and the individual page links will be changing. Some folks might be hesitant about setting up an account on Facebook. It does not cost anything, and I am finding it a great tool to find people when I am researching a family. I would suggest that you send out a message to each of the Family 4 members individually as not all subscribe to this list. I assume it is not too chilly in Hawaii...
