    3. Philip, Per one or more of the various "Family 7" researchers, James Davison, Senior was married to a Sarah McCune. I do not know, however, if that has been "proven beyond a shadow of a doubt." Dennis Davidson of "Family 7" could probably answer that (as you may know, Dennis is also our current "update person" for the Davidson/Davison/Davisson DNA website at www.davidsongenes.org). I do not believe that the Alexander Davidson in Campbell Co., VA was a member of "Family 7," nor a member of my "Family 10." Based on a few clues, Alexander MIGHT have been a member of "Family 12," but we certainly have no proof of that (the DNA donor for kit 63783 in "Family 12" COULD be one of his descendants). Alexander was in the Albemarle/Buckingham Co., VA area in the 1750s and 1760s, as were some members of my "Family 10," but my family had been in Goochland and Cumberland Co., VA before that....and I have no proof of where Alexander Davidson was before he appeared in Albemarle/Buckingham (but he MIGHT have come into VA from PA, especially IF he was TRULY a member of "Family 12"....since the other donor in "Family 12" is out of an early Robert Davidson who came into VA from PA...after arriving in this country from Ireland). I don't recall if I ever saw any information on the Alexander Davidson who was in Anderson County....please remind me, is that in TN? The Alexander Davidson in Bedford/Campbell Co., VA had sons who were named: 1) John Davidson (moved to KY....COULD be the line of kit 63783 referenced above....but again, no proof), 2) Samuel Davidson (died in Appomattox Co., VA in 1848; he should not be confused with the unrelated Reverend Samuel Davidson out of "Family 7" who died in Appomattox Co., VA in 1861) and 3) Alexander Davidson, Junior (seems to have "disappeared" from the Campbell Co., VA area in the 1820s...he was married at least twice). Best regards, Bill

    3. As I have written so many times before, my father's line was James Sr from Big Mocassin Gap VA(Scott, Washington, Russell, Fincastle) Records can be found in all of those county records. James Sr'I, James Jr/II, Robert, Henry, Gideon, Kemp, Kyle, Philip. All from Scott County VA except I was born on Davidson land purchased by William Davidson(1746-1838) buried in Morgan Co TN. Samuel, William married to Anna Nickle, William C married to the Granddaughter of Alexander Davidsons of Campbell Co VA. Permelia Dickey married Samuel Taylor in 1816 before they moved to Roane Co TN around 1820. Alexander Davidson in Anderson County TN is in the 1850 Census but I always wondered where he came from. One of William and Anna Nickle's sons was Alexander, another was John and William. Good Scottish names and familiar names of this Family Group. William & Permelia had John Henry in 1847. John and Mary Rudder named their first son Samuel C. Keeping with tradition>? In 1983 I moved to Dallas, Dallas, TX. Looking in the phone book I found one John Leslie Davidson on Vanderbuilt Street in Dallas. He was a descendant of Col Wm Lee Davidson of Morgan Co TN. John passed last March at 102. He had a pix of Bunk Davidson in pensil. I do not know where his pix went as he promised them to me but died out of TX. John had no children but was the uncle of Judith Davidson Moyers of NYC and PBS. Wife of Bill Moyers. This is suppose to be a different Family. Colonel Wm Davidson, Samuel born in VA, William married Anna Nickle, William C and Permelia Taylor, Rev John Henry, Viola Davidson Silva, Dora Silva Davidson, Philip R Davidson 1946. I am the only surviving son with 3 sons but only one grandson! I hope that the Lord keeps his promise and that somewhere out there is another heir! I believe but have no proof that my James and William were brothers and their father was Samuel of Beverly Manor. That is my working Hypothesis bases on 40 yeears of research. There are no family records. Just a letter from 1903 to John Henry from Rev. William R in KY The Colonel Wm Davison had 640 Acres all over NC, TN, VA, KY and who knows where. > From: tunnelm@verizon.net > To: davidson@rootsweb.com > Date: Tue, 12 Jan 2010 16:48:27 -0500 > Subject: Re: [DAVIDSON] William Davidson > > Philip, > > Per one or more of the various "Family 7" researchers, James Davison, Senior > was married to a Sarah McCune.
