I don't know why they were there. Only that they were from Sullivan Co., Indiana. Sarah was the oldest daughter of Daniel Davidson and Mary Enochs. Daniel born in Va. and Mary in Rowan Co., N.C. Miami County is not far from Fort Wayne which is in Allen Co. All of my Davidsons stayed in Sullivan Co. which is near Vincennes, for many years, and then started migrating to other places. My great grandfather was Thomas Enochs Davidson and he married Elizabeth Gobin and lived his entire life at Carlisle, Ind. in Sullivan Co. The pioneer who came to Sullivan County was his father, Daniel Davidson, born in Va. He and wife Mary Enochs are in the Jefferson county Ky records where they owned a farm on Floyds Fork which is a creek empting into the Salt River. About 1817 they sold out and came to Indiana. There is also a George Davidson who died in Jessamine County Ky about 1812. His children sold the land they recieved from their father about 1836 and were living at Carlisle when they made their deed to the new owner. There is a family connection but am not sure just how. Other family names are Hackett, Portwood and Holloway. Does any of this ring any bells? I sent you a lengthy message yesterday and it bounced. Hope you get this. By the way, in Miami County during the time frame of 1830's, we still had Indians roaming around and the White River which runs through that area was a large attraction I am sure. For trading and hunting as well as travel. Mary Pielemeier
