    3. Nancy, Regret that I have not yet researched Daniel to any great extent. Essentially, what I have is following that should be considered work in progress and subject to change based on any newly discovered evidence: Daniel Davison of Prince Edward Co, VA was most likely born around 1730 (most likely in what is now Orange Co, VA, plus or minus a couple of years. Daniel moved to what is now Prince Edward Co, VA in 1741-42 with his parents. He married a Nancy (Last Name Unk) probably around 1752-1753. (Marriage based on Tithe list where he was shown as a household head with his father John for 1753. Age calculation based on court records that would support being of majority age.) I have not looked for clues to Nancy's family name or for when she died. While in Prince Edward Co, VA, he lived in the Mountain Creek area on land that he inherited from his father. Daniel could write his name and did so with the Davison spelling, albeit second parties often used the second "d" variation or even the Davis/Daviss/Davisson versions. He moved to Anson Co, NC before the 1790 census (I have a good estimation somewhere in my notes, based on when he sold his VA land and based on some records in Anson before 1790.) He was still there in early 1800s based on some other lists. (If interested, I can get to those easily and can let you know.) I do not know of Daniel's children for certain, but there is a John Davison (lived near Daniel in NC and is correct age generation) and a Josiah Davison who also moved to Anson/Montgomery County of NC. (Josiah was in RevWar in Prince Edward and witnessed Robert Atkins 1777 Will in Prince Edward Co, VA, but was not in the Will. Robert Atkins was next door neighbor to Daniel on Mountain Creek.) Other children of John and Ann Davison who moved to Anson/Montgomery Co, NC were: George and Brazilia Atkins Davison, James and Elizabeth Davison Atkins, and Ambrose Davison (Ambrose was married to one of Robert Atkins daughters, but she was deceased by the 1777 Will, but the Will did mention one grand-daughter, Francis "Franky" Davison, who married Thompson Harris in Charlotte Co, VA 1780. I do not know, if Daniel moved from Anson Co, NC or not. Many of my Davisons moved to KY and to TN (around the Maury Co, TN area). I hope the above sketch is of some use to you for leads to follow up on or to modify as appropriate. In a couple of years (after retirement) I plan to visit Anson/Montgomery Co, NC area and do some on-site research. Stay in touch. Hollis in Fairfax Co, VA. ---------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: Nancy Frye <nan@crosstel.net> To: <DAVIDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 14, 2001 5:27 PM Subject: Re: [DAVIDSON-L] John & Ann Davison > Hi Hollis, > > Saw your posting on John and Ann Davison, and you are right that there is so > much miss leading information out there.
