Hi, English Davidson here(Via Davidsons of Scots-Irish descent). Just curious as to the numbers of Davidsons involved in the War of Independence. Were they mostly Loyalists? Does anyone know of any Davidson ancestors who fought in the conflict, loyalist or not? Thanks for any help.
I have an Alexander Davison, from Northampton Co., PA who was a private in the Am. Rev. (2 PA Regiment., 2nd Batt.,5th class). Know that several other Alexander's from Pennsylvania also fought in the war. (Beaver, Cumberland, and Allegheny counties, I think). Know that many other Alexander's from MA, VA, and NC and NJ also were in the war on the American side. Chuck in Texas. . ----- Original Message ----- From: <sean_davidson5@hotmail.com> To: <DAVIDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2001 1:28 PM Subject: [DAVIDSON-L] Davidsons in War of Independence > > Hi, English Davidson here(Via Davidsons of Scots-Irish descent). > Just curious as to the numbers of Davidsons involved in the War of Independence.
