I know this is my line of Davidsons I just can't make the connection. Does this ring any bells? Elizabeth Davidson b.? d. 1846. She married James McCracken b. 1750 d. 1802. They lived in Mecklenburg Co NC in the Long Creek area. They went to the same church as William Davidson (who was killed in RW at Cowan's Ford in Meck Co) which is Hopewell Presbyterian Ch. in Meck Co. James Mc in buried there along with William Davidson. Elizabeth Davidson McCracken and James had a son named William Davidson McCracken. And a son named Elihu. Elihu had a son named William Davidson McCracken who also had a son named William Davidson McNitt (McKnitt) (McKnight) McCracken. McKnight a surname connected with Davidsons in Meck Co. McCrackens also married into the Samples and Alexanders, other prominent surnames in Meck Co with connections to the Davidsons. Family legend says that Elizabeth Davidson was a daughter of Dr. Davidson. The McCrackens lived in the old Davidson house in Meck Co NC. Someone give me some help here.
