I have a James Davidson that according to the 1850 Spartanburg County Census, page 177, was born around 1819 and his wife was Sarah, born around 1818 with sons Hazel (my great-great-great- grandfather), b. `1838 m. Mary Elizabeth "Granny Polly" Scruggs, b. 1837. William b. `1841 Henry b. `1844 Alfred b. `1847 I didn't get any further yet. They may have more children that I don't have yet. Is this your James?
