This may or may not help you. I am the Gr-Gr-Gr-granddaughter of Purity Davidson who was born in 1800 in NC and married Dean Rogers who was born 1786 in NH and married in Rutherford Co., TN. Their daughter Susanna Mariah Rogers b 1835 in Rutherford Co., TN is my Gr-Gr-grandmother who married Wm. Lassiter on 10 July 1852 in Rutherford Co., TN. He was b 1830 at Rutherford Co., TN, the son of Alexander Lassiter and Isabella Higgenbotham and he died 29 May 1881 in Barry Co., MO and was buried in the Hilton Cemetery at Jenkins, Barry Co., MO. The first child, a daughter named Purity Isabella Lassiter was born 10 May 1853 in Barry Co., MO. She was the sister of my gr-gr-grandmother Sarah Clemantine Lassiter. Purity Isabella Lassiter married James Thomas Hemphill 16 Oct. 1868 in Stone Co., MO. He was born in McMinn Co., TN. Purity Isabella died 14 Jan 1926 in Rogers Co., OK and James T. Hemphill died 3 April 1920 at Rogers Co., OK. They are both buried in the Snider Cemetery, at Rogers Co., OK. This is a far jump from PA but the way families intermarried it might be a possibility. Also I was told by my father that we were related to the Shaffers. How I do not know. I was just given a long list of surnames (orally) and nothing written. Hope this helps. Ruth
