At this time there were two prominent ones that we know of. One was William, twin of Samuel, and son of John and Mary Morrison Davidson. He was b. in Lancaster Co. PA in 1736. He moved with his parents to Iredell Co. NC in 1748. He m. Maragaret McCoonnell, 1748-1806; served as Lt. in Capt. James Houston's company of NC militia. Gabriel Ragsdale and Wm Whitson were first Rep. to House of Commons; Wm Davidson was 1st Senator. He d. in Buncombe Co. 1809 according to DAR Lineage books. >Gen. William Lee Davidson was the son of George Davidson. He was killed at Cowen's Ford on the Yadkin River in 1781. Had a sister, Ruth. I understand that a lot of things in Davidson Co. NC are named after him. >Col Wm and Margaret had Mary, John, George and Hugh Lawson(twins, b Jan 5, 1768), Jane, Sarah, Elizabeth, Ruth, William Mitchell, and Samuel Winslow. Geo. m Sally McWhirter d. 1837. Hugh L. m Jane Vance. he d. Sept 9, 1841. John m. cousin Martha D. and had a Hugh, b. 1795 (and 7 other children).
