The one that married Stephen Duke in SC I can't place. I have another that is an aunt and is related through my DICK line were I am twice related to the DUKE line. I would like to find out how the Sarah Webb of SC does or does not fit in. In that hope, I post my most telling Webb information. I have visited both. To get there from I-75 in Butts Co. I go to Jackson GA and stay on 42 highway going South East to Indian Springs GA. Staying on 42 through Indian Springs and into Monroe Co. you will pass through a bump in the road known as Blount. Go About 1 mile on South of Blount on highway 42. You will turn Left or East on Stokes Store Road go East approx. 1 mile to were the road splits you take the right fork ( at this time it is dirt ) on to a part of Old Indian Springs Road. Go South on Old Indian Spring Rd. approx. 3/10 of a mile. On your right or what will be the west side of the road will be an old road-bed Set in about 50 yards is a cattle gate and it says it is posted keep out go approx. 200 yards heading West beyond this gate, you should see the Webb cemetery on your left. At this time there is a fence around it. I have recorded the information extracted from that cemetery in the correct place in by software program. The other from that cemetery is recorded below. John Otis Glass B. Oct 5, 1879 D. Feb 13, 1947 next to him in place of were the wife would be is Hexie Morgan B. Dec 11, 1882 D. June 8, 1971 in same plot and next too Hexie is James L. Morgan B. May 1 1847 D. July 18, 1923 and then next to him Janie Morgan B. May 1, 1873 D. Jan 1874 in the next area but not same plot is Thomas Wiley B. Jan 1, 1867 D. Jan 12, 1919 next to him in place of the wife is Martha Howard Morgan B. Feb. 19, 1877 D. Oct 31, 1928 then we have Martha Webb Duffy Morgan B. Jan 8, 1843 D. Oct 22, 1926 next to her but not in place were husband would be is George J. Morgan B. Oct. 20, 1879 D. Jan 9, 1933. Next we have Elizabeth Virginia Webb wife of J. B. Gregory B. June 21, 1817 D. Mar 3, 1935 closet to her grave is Jarrett B. Gregory B. Dec. 14? 1853 D. May 27, 1947. next is Elanor Proctor Sutton Hutchingson B. May 17, 1901 END 1995 - GA, Newton Co., In the history of Newton Co., GA it says the Father of Susan Webb is John Webb and John's father was Francis Webb. I know this to be in error. From the book "ROSTER OF REVOLUTIONARY SOLDIERS IN GA", by McCall Howard H. page 177 states that Francis Webb was b. Essex Co. VA 1759 d. Hancock Co. GA 1811 Mar. 1786 Frances Walker daughter of Freeman Walker & his wife Frances Belfield if these dates are right and I believe they are... then their son John Webb can't be the father of Susan Webb as this John was born in 1794 and Susan was born in 1798 per pension application. There is Charles Webb's will he names Susan Dick as his daughter. The list of children I display is from Charles Webb's will.
