    1. [DAVIDSON-L] Re: DAVIDSON-D Digest V01 #192
    2. I purchased the C'D for the l880 census, which includes an index. Like the original's there are mis-spellings and some of the relatives that I know should be there were either missed or mis-spelled so terrible that I haven't found them all. My great grandfather was George Hamilton Mc Gregor. I couldn't find him in l880 although I had seen the film. Finally located him this afternoon --- Gary Mc Gregor. Some of the other names were spelled Mc Greggery/ Mc Greggory/ Mc Greagor As for the l900 census. I don't like the one on Ancestry.com as it doesn't have a search program. If you know the county and township, you have a better chance of finding the party. I also have trouble navigating the program. I also have the l900 census on line through Familytreemaker and it is much easier to work with. You can do a all around search for a name, or pick out the state. Although as with any census., there are mis-spellings and some families that I haven't located as yet, although I know they should be there. Maybe they went to town that day, who knows. I also have several of the l850 census C.D.'s that I use constantly and also use the ones on line. When you are researching 30 to 40 different lines, you use everything you can find available, especially if you aren't close to an Archieve Library. Dee Mc Gregor Bouse Branson, Mo.
