Now that I look at my records, my William was born 8/6/1776 in Union District, S.C. He died 12/1837 in Mt. Zion, Illinois. He married Elizabeth Mayes. March 17, 1795 in Union District, SC. She was the daughter of Thomas Mayes and Jean Rutherford. Willliam and his family moved to Illinois after 1812 and before 1817. Anna Gayle

William Davidson that married Elizabeth Mayes was a son of John Davidson and Tabitha. William and brother Samuel both married an Elizabeth Mayes, cousins and went to Illinois.
