    1. [DAVIDSON-L] Brothers in the War
    2. Who was your ancestor who went to GA? Here is what I have: John Davidson, who came to PA in the mid 1730s and m. Mrs Mary Morrison, had among others, twin sons William and Samuel. Wm., known as Maj. Wm., was prominent in the war. Samuel, referred to as Cap. and Col, served also. He was the first white settler west of the Blue Ridge and was killed in 1784 by Indians in what is now western N.C. William, John, Thomas were, with others, instrumental in the formation of Bunscombe Co. N.C. Wm. was the first Senator. In my info I can find no record of anyone's going to GA. They went to TN, KY, AR. However, there were so many sons, and they moved around a whole lot, so it is possible that one of the GA ones were related to the N.C. ones.
