    1. [DAVIDSON-L] Wives of David and William R. Davidson?
    2. Davidsons from Georgia I am trying to find the surname of David Davidson's wife. They were both from Georgia and they married 12/11/1834. Her given name was Susan Caroline and he called her Carrie. David was born 11/8/1808 and died 10/16/1884. Susan Caroline was born 3/7/1815 and died 8/13/1894. I am, also, looking for the name of William R. Davidson's wife. William R. was one of the sons of David and Carrie Davidson. W. R. was born in Georgia 9/19/1835 and died 7/29/1891. Mrs. W. R. Davidson died 12/18/1889. Her death announcement was in the The LaGrange Reporter (Georgia newspaper) on December 19, 1889. It said: "Mrs. W. R. Davidson, calmly fell asleep in death at 6 o'clock on the morning of the 18th. The funeral services will take place at the Presbyterian church, of which she was a consistent member, at 10 o'clock on the 19th. A good woman has fallen. Her loss will be mourned by her bereft husband, four sons and two daughters. Yes, a good woman - one of the best. In all the relations of life, she was noble and true, and was loved to the last degree. Her death was a grand triumph. May God strengthen the bereaved." Children of William R and his wife were: 1. Unknown daughter 2. Unknown son 3. Robert Emmett Davidson - Major in Spanish-American war - buried in the old Woodlawn Cemetery in Ocala, Florida. He is buried next to his sister, Martha C. Davidson. I have seen his headstone and no dates were given - only his rank and name and service dates. 4. Martha C. Davidson 11/17/1858 - 6/10/1934. She was called Mattie. Mattie married Charles J. Juhan of Carrolton, Georgia. She is buried in Ocala, Florida next to Major Robert Emmett Davidson and two of her three children. At the time of her death she was a widow. I do not know what happened to her husband. 5. John Sidney Davidson 3/23/1860 - 1/14/1932. He married Sarah C. Formby. They are buried in Troup County, Georgia. 6. David Elmo Davidson 5/5/1868 - 1/19/1940. He was born in Georgia, but moved to Florida as a young man. He is buried in Leesburg, Florida next to his wife, Louise Harrison Davidson. At one time, David and William R. Davidson paid taxes on land in Chambers County, Alabama. I think William R. and his wife could have lived in Blufton, Alabama for a short time. However, they moved back to Harris County and Troup County, Georgia. Any one else looking for this family? Thanks, Anna Gayle
