I just happened to read your message. I am not familiar with your Davidsons but yes, there are many histories of the Davidsons in America. Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation out there also. For years I understood that my Davidsons were born in Scotland in the early 1700s, and that there were three brothers who left Scotland for Ireland because of religious persecution. These 3 came to America in the mid 1730s, to PA., married, moved about, and multiplied a lot. Now I learn that some people think there weren't 3, but 2. Then there are the ones who came earlier...John D., who came in 1679? Then there are the Davidsons who came from England, Scotland, and Ireland in later years...some in the 1800s, etc.l Some moved down from Canada. I believe Frank Davidson wrote a book on Davidsons in America. Some people on this site have been trying to locate it. Then there are the Davidsons who dropped the middle 'd' and became Davisons. Of course, there are the Scandinavian Davidsons, Davissons, Davidssens, Davidssons!!! Keep looking A lot of nice and helpful people are out there on the Net, sharing their info and looking for more.
