I know that's not the proper use of the term, but it fits. In my family, the story was ," they came from Stratford on Avon, near Shakespear's home". Anyone out there with a similar handed down tale? I always thought it was the mid 1700's. The legions aren't always myths you know. Let's hear your story.....
I certainly hope my Davidsons came from the area in England near Stratford on Avon. Truly a beautiful country of wonderful, warm, friendly folks. Rolling green hillsides and charming cottages with fluffy, white sheep grazing nearby. Also the field of standing stones and mound that is so much larger in scope than Stonehenge. You expect to see a Celt nearby- or even a Druid. You see folks walking on country lanes miles from nowhere and as an American who only goes if the car goes, I was amazed on where they were walking from and even where they were walking to.
