John, I was wondering if you have seen your John Davidson/Davison's signature and if he spelled it Davison or Davidson or signed with his mark? Thanks, Terry D

I am having a problem with the John Davidson name. My John Davidson, Sr. was married to Margaret "Mary" Morrison. I imagine I typed it in that way because it showed up both ways in searches I did. He was the father of my Rachel Davidson who married John Alexander, Reverend. Rachel was born in about 1733 in Pennsylvania and died in 1796 in Buncombe Co, NC. Some notes say that she also may have been born in Ireland. I show that my John D. was born in about 1709 in Cecil Co, MD and died 1749 in Rowan Co, NC.. I show that his father was William Davidson born about 1685 in Ireland. He married Elizabeth Unknown and had: John, George (1717), Robert (1715), Anne (Unknown). Is anyone able to corroberate this? I hope. I would like more information on Rachel, her father John and his father William. Thanks, Linda in NM
