I have notes on a John and Samuel Davison (brothers ???) who each bought land belonging to the Beverly Patent in what was then Orange Co., VA. This area was split into Augusta Co., VA in 1738. John bought 785 acres in 1738, Samuel bought 353 in 1739. Baptismal records of Tinkling springs Church there lists the following: John Davison's children- Elizabeth 19 April 1741; Margaret 5 December 1742; John 25 November 1744; Robert 5 April 1747; Samuel Davison's children- James 23 August 1741 (mother Margaret); Benjamin 8 May 1743; Jessee 14 April 1745; William 8 March 1747; Mary 11 June 1749. I sure wish I could find out more about Samuel's James. James is possibly buried around the Davidson River in NC, and his wife may have been a MAry McConnell from Lunenburg, VA. A paper I have says JAmes and MAry had a son, John, born about 1766 in Augusta, VA. Thanks again.
