I have been able to find most of their children in Census' with thier spouses. The sources for the information on William and Theresa come from my Grandmother's hand written family records. She said the Theresa's maiden name was Donnell but the death Certificate of Theresa's son (Francis A. Davidson) states the maiden name was Moore. The informant for the certificate was Francis' wife Kathryne (Myers)Davidson. The name Lea was not a surname it was the given name on some of the census records for Leona Davidson. If so, which one (I cannot seem to find a Theresa Davidson on a census in MO in 1860-1880). A Samuel Davidson married a woman named Elender Lea in Campbell Co., VA, and some members of that overall Davidson family moved to TN for a while (but that could just be a coincidence to the Lea name that you mentioned). 2. John Lisle
    3. Terry, If you are part of F4/4A, send me your gedcom off-list(!!!), and I will include it in the family file and send you a link for the tree I am building. I am only exposing the "draft" site to family members at this time. I have put together a database of descendants, allied families, and some possible ancestors of about 2500 people in the last two weeks with the help of trees and research from the descendants. The people that I have connected are descendants of a William Davidson who was born in the late 1780s, somewhere in North Carolina. The trick is that one member is descended from a Robert Davidson, b. abt. 1817 in Tennessee (or maybe Kentucky...) and the other from a James Davidson, b. abt 1812 in Tennessee (or maybe Kentucky). Research from one of the members included an 1886 court document that identified Robert and James as sons of William. There are still at least two other Davidson families in that region who are also likely in the family but are likely descended from William's siblings. BTW, the offer on the Gedcom is open to ANY Family 4/4A members. I expect to be about done with the piece I am working on in the next day or 2. OK? john. You can then compare your matches with other Davidsons and non Davidsons. This might be of some intrest to some researchers. I have been noticed that several families seem to have distant matches with the Cummings/Comyn,MacPhersons and MacKay's, among other names that were part of the original Clan Chatten which was an ancient confederation of clans in Scotland. I think there are only 77 Davidsons that have uploaded there results to Y-Search and there are 144 in the DNA project. 2. Greg, This is an answer to your below query. I know that a Davidson family settled in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. They were from Alabama or Georgia many years ago. They have a Davidson cemetery there -- at least they did before Katrina. They are not my Davidson family. They were a pretty prominent family in that area. Ocean Springs is near Gulfport, Mississippi. Wish I could tell you more, but this is all I know about them. 2. John Patrick Quinn
    3. I am most interested in corresponding with anyone having data regarding the Davison/Davidson family of Cumberland Co., PA and later, Franklin Co., PA. My ancestor, John Davison, removed from Cumberland County in 1765 and settled in what later became York Co., SC. I have traced him back to the Antrim Township of Cumberland County, that later became part of Franklin Co., PA. Beyond that, I have no record. There was a John Davison who was brother to an Elias and Hugh Davison who both married McDowell sisters. My John named sons Hugh and Elias and I have long thought they these two men were his brothers. These men were sons of John Davison and Margaret Henry. I am interested in any information pertaining to my John Davison in Cumberland County. Additionally, I would like to either prove or disprove that he was identical to the son of the same name belonging to the family of John Davison and Margaret Henry. I should be most grateful for any help you can afford me. John Patrick Quinn jpsquinn@att.net
