    1. [DAVIDSON] Davidson/Davison Quaker Families DNA Testing
    2. Laroice Davidson
    3. I am seeking a male descendant of below listed family. If they can provide reasonable documentation to indicate their relationship I will pay for the DNA 37 marker test as long as the current "special pricing" at the DNA lab is in effect. I feel the Davidson/Davison DNA tested families, especially family 4 at http://www.tqsi.com/davidsongenes2/family.php?family=4 are on the verge of a breakthrough. However the DNA testing of a male descendant of the below family is of vital importance. So if you are a male descendant of the following line please reply to this posting and I will contact you directly. Sincerely, Laroice Davidson This the family in question and the following is taken from minutes of Quaker meetings and Hinshaw's book on Quaker genealogy. James Davidson/Davison was born in 3 March 1715 in Chester Co., PA and married Mary Bean. They had male children: John born 1746 in Chester Co., Pa. He married Rachael Baton & had male children - Samuel, James, , John, Moses, William & George all born in Guilford Co, NC. James born 1755 Chester Co., Pa. He married Hannah Sidwell & had male children - Richard, William, Alexander, Joseph, Jacob, James, all born in Guilford Co. NC. William born 1761 Orange Co., NC. Nothing more is known of him. Both John and James had sons named William and I feel strongly that one of them is my 4th Great Grandfather. So any help appreciated. Thanks again, Laroice Davidson Family 4 DNA kit number 88694 http://www.tqsi.com/davidsongenes2/family.php?family=4

(Samuel and William Davidson married same named cousins. All four are buried in Mt. Zion, IL. in the Davidson cemetery behind the old Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. Markers are gone, but church records are intact.) JOHN DAVIDSON # 2 is my great great great grandfather. According to John Davidson's war records and pension application, he was born 1761 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- on the banks of the Schuylkill River. Before the American Revolution, John moved with his mother, father and siblings to Union District, South Carolina. John enlisted to fight in the war, when he was only 16. He fought in numerous battles and was injured to his head and hand by a sword in the Battle of Cowpens (S. C.). After the war, he moved from Union District, South Carolina to Georgia. First, he lived in Green County, Georgia. Next, he lived in Morgan County, Georgia. He settled in Shady Dale, Georgia -- Jasper County. He was married (wife unknown) and had six children. The children were Mary M., Robert, Margaret, Jane, David, and John Davidson, Jr. John Davidson (RS) died January 15, 1856 in Jasper County. His son, David Davidson, was my great great grandfather. DAVID DAVIDSON was born November 8, 1808 in Georgia. He married Susan Caroline Phillips (her mother was Elizabeth Henderson Phillips) on December 11, 1834. They lived in Long Cane, GA - Troup County. David and Caroline (Carrie) had ten children. They were William R., John P., Augustus Lafayette, Thomas B., Timney Elizabeth, Lucinda Margaret, Mary Elizabeth, Watson Cummins, Susan Frances, and Adolphus Talmadge Davidson. My great grandfather, William R. Davidson, was his oldest son. David Davidson died October 16, 1884. WILLIAM R. DAVIDSON was born September 19, 1835 in Georgia. Census records lists his wife as Mary M. Hammond. Mary M. Hammond Davidson's parents were Simeon T. Hammond and Martha Ann Sarah Traylor. W. R. and M. M. Davidson had six children. They lived in Chambers County, AL -- Harris County --and Troup County, GA. Their children were Martha (Mattie) C., John Sidney, Lizzie M., Robert Emmett, David Elmo (sometimes seen as Elmore) and Zack (some census records show Zach) E. or C. Davidson. William R. Davidson died July 29, 1891 in Georgia. David Elmo was my grandfather. DAVID ELMO DAVIDSON was born May 5, 1868 in Harris County, Georgia. He married (1) Frances Rebecca Pooser. 2. John Lisle
    3. Hi, The Davidson Surname DNA project was just given word of another amazing sale being offered by our testing lab Family Tree DNA. Because of RootsWeb rules, I cannot list the prices, but I can list the tests that the special covers. If you want an opportunity to get your family's DNA tested, this is a great opportunity. In the special last June we had over 30 members choose to upgrade. We are still processing the results from those tests but have made several new families and added many members to existing projects and even helped some people with their ancestry. Some of you might wish to use this special to make it easier to fund getting a relative into the project. The offer on the 37 marker test is an especially attractive offer. This is the link to joining the Davidson project. The prices quoted on the site are the discounts. https://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.aspx?code=Y70310&special=True&projecttype=S Our project web site is http://www.davidsongenes.org. Marie looks to be about 10, Velda about 7, and Albert, about age 2. Photo was taken in about 1908. I found the children in the 1910 census for Taylor (Appanoose Co.) IA, living with their parents, Otto G. and Dora Davidson. Otto was 36 and Dora was 39, while L. Marie was age 12, Velda E. was age 10, and William Albert was age 4. In the 1920 census for Benton (Adair Co.) MO, the family showed Otto G. Davidson, 46; wife Elva D., age 49; Velda I., 19; Albert W., 14, and son Merrill A., 7.
