His wife was Mahala Laswell. She later went on to marry an Owens. Davidson had 3 boys (James, Andrew Jackson and William) and 2 girls (Fanny and Polly). I am looking to tie the Johnathan that was hanged in KY to William and find Johnathan's father. I was just wondering if anyone had any documentation that might help? Sarah Davidson of Dickson County wrote her will in April 1868 wherein she lists her heirs as J.C. Davidson, Delila Thomas, H.A. Davidson, J.M. Davidson, and Abraham Davidson. I believe J.C. is Jesse Davidson of Pope County, IL and the oldest child of Thomas and Sarah Davidson; Delila Davidson Thomas, wife of John W. Thomas, of Dickson County, TN; H.A. is Howell Davidson of Dickson County, TN; J.M. is James Davidson of Dickson County, TN; Abraham Davidson is yet undetermined. I think the order of this listing is significant as to the birth order of Sarah's children. Sarah's estate was not opened until 1867 and since the 'heirs of Jesse Davidson formerly of Pope County, Illinois' are listed in the reading it seems most probable that Jesse Davidson died sometime before this reading. Sarah Davidson, who died in 1867, lists descendants of Jesse in Illinois, but these look like descendants of her brother-in-law rather than her son. I am researching the Davidsons of Dickson, Humphreys, and Benton Counties, Tennessee, including the Thomas family. Although I think that my Loyd E. Davidson b.abt.1900 was born in Illinois, he lived with his family in Emporia KS as evidenced by the 1910 Census records. His father was Samuel A Davidson b.1862 and wife is Henrietta b. 1868. Brother is Henry Lee b.1895 d.1950 and Frank (S)b.1891 d.1949 was their eldest brother. They moved to Cherryvale KS by the 1915 Census and where still there in 1920. Samuel A. Davidson owned a moving picture theater and the boys all worked there too. My Davidson family has moved around quite a bit and can be found in Davidson, Montgomery, Stewart and Henry County, Tennessee at various times between 1800 and 1870. Our Charlton B. Davidson 1790-1842 appears in the Todd County, Kentucky census in 1820, the Stewart County, Tennessee census in 1830 and the McCracken County, Kentucky census in 1840. Two descendants of Oliver Perry Davidson of Pope County, Illinois, match my Family Nine DNA. Davidson researchers who have worked on my family in the past report that Charlton Davidson had seven children. The name of one child born abt. 1827 was not identified previously. That child could be Oliver Perry Davidson. A child of the correct age, that would match Oliver Perry Davidson, is listed in Charlton Davidson's family in the 1830 and 1840 census. I have yet to identify any other Davidsons from my family who are contemporary with Charlton Davidson, who might be the father of Oliver Perry Davidson. Other Davidsons are in Stewart County,Tennessee during Charlton Davidson's time there. Some are descendants of General William Lee Davidson of Family One in the DNA Project. A number of family five Davidsons, who were originally thought to be related to Oliver Perry Davidson, are in neighboring Montgomery, County Tennessee.
