Seems there are more than one Dick Davidson. My Andrew was born in Virginia in 1825. I have been a member of the Clan Davidson Society for a number of years and have tried to connect Andrew to a number of families in Virginia but still have no concrete proof of his parenthood. I'm on my way to Ohio next week to see if I can find him in the Fremont County marriage records. Maybe his dad will be listed there. Thank for your reply Dick Davidson

I found this in the Pa. Archives 5th series Vol.lV p.519 William Davidson - served from April 13, 1777-May 1781 as Sergeant in Eleventh Penna. Regt. Company commanded by Capt. Matthew Irwin. Was Discharged and removed to Erie Co. in 1803. Lost his left eye from injury received by fall of a tree. In 1809 was again wounded in like manner. " Numerus" family of children. Dear Mary B, Thank you for your email about Josiah Davidson. His great-granddaughter was my mother-in-law. How do I know Efraim was Josiah's father? I wish I were sure. But I do not know that. I have been testing him as a possibility, though, because of his age, his life in VA and his association by being in the same Rutherford County,TN, with a passel of other Davidsons, one of whom was named Efraim. Finally, I was told he was the head of a household which contained Josiah, but that may have been a mistake. So, I really only suspect the possibility. John Zacchariah Davidson, personally I don't know much about him. The most I know about him is that he had at least two wives, if my information is correct. On my line John Z, married Mary Ellen Glover, and they had my great grandfather in 1920. John Franklin Davidson.
