    2. Hollis Davison
    3. Pat, Ann's maiden name is not known for certain. However, a grandson of my ggg-grandfather, Brackett Davison, and his 1st cousin, recorded some genealogy of our line. They claimed she was Ann Sons. I am not certain of their source, but do know that they had access to an old Davison family Bible that belonged to Brackett. In early VA, I have found Sons spelled as Soons, Soans, Soanes, etc. Also, I do not know where or when they were married. However, as work in progress, it appears most likely they married about 1723 or 1724. This is based on their buying land in Orange Co, VA 1725 (Spotsylvania County at that time) and based on an estimate of their first son's age. Regards, Hollis in VA. ----- Original Message ----- From: <AppleCrek1@aol.com> To: <DAVIDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2001 9:51 AM Subject: Re: [DAVIDSON-L] Re: John & Ann Davison > What was your Ann Davison's maiden name? > > Pat > > > ==== DAVIDSON Mailing List ==== > DAVIDSON - DAVISON - DAVISSON Web Page > http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~genea/davidson.html >

    3. Frank, thank you for the information. You and I are definitely researching the same line. I do have the names of the children of James Davison, Jr., and Margaret Dyer listed the same as you do. And, to Charlotte Kennedy, thank you for your response. I will list the children here for you, according to the will of James Davison, Jr., which was signed 26 April 1826. (Scott Co.,VA) They are: Alice Davison Dulaney Goldman Davison (my line) Robert Davison Elizabeth Davison Stacy Ruth Davison Tate Katherine Davison Goff Polly Davison Martin Sally Davison Funkhowser Peggy Davison Fisher I do not have birthdates on the above children, except for Goldman Davison, born about 1790 VA. If anyone has the birthdates on these, I would love to hear from you. Thank you, June

    3. Chuck, About a year ago I ordered a film from the LDS Church on the Wash. Co. Rangeres. I could not find any Davidsons in the 1781-1783 lists. I did find a William Davidson in the 1792 list. Washington Co. Militia in the state of Pennsylvania under the command of Capt. Adam Poe in actual service on the Frontier .....28th day of Aug. 1792. William Davidson Ensign Payed $20 Could not find any other Davidsons on the list. Try the PA. Archives if you are near a good library. Also the book "The Tenmile Country and its Pioneer Families" has a chapter on the Frontier Rangers. Good Luck, Joan ----- Original Message ----- From: Chuck W. 2. dear Nita, I would love to have some info on your line, I believe I am from the same family. There are a few on this list, me included, who are decended from a James Davidson, born approx 1781 in Iredale Co. We believe he married Nancy Isbell b. 1782 /Surrey Co., in 1800. James may have been the son of George Davidson of the Iredale Davidsons. Nancy and James Davidson had three children we know of: John, William S. and Harriett. Any info would be great. Karen
