    3. I too have visited Stratford-Upon-Avon (http://www.stratford-upon-avon.co.uk/). Interestingly enough, my mother's family HAS been traced back to that area with descendants from Warwickshire. Beautiful area it is and the Warwick Castle is awsome (http://www.warwick-castle.co.uk/). It would be real funny if my research for my Davidson family actually ended up there as well. Davidson. His dates are 1844-20 Aug 1930. He married Sarah Matilda Snodgrass in Belmont County, Ohio in 1870. I don't have his father's name, but his mother's maiden name may have been Burris. According to his obituary, he had 2 brothers still alive in 1930: Elmer (of Cambridge??) and Joseph (of Martins Ferry). John W. Davidson had 14 children; my husband's grandmother was the youngest. Does this seem to match up with your Elmer? Kathy kbsgen@yahoo.com

    2. Ray G. Sanders
    3. Hi list: On a recent ( August, 2001 ) trip to Eastern Oregon my wife and I discovered the burial site of SAMUEL KELSEY DAVISON ( b. circa 1831; d. 17 February, 1897 ). His grave ( although vandalized ), as well as that of his daughter-in-law, MELISSA COTTLE DAVISON are located in the Southwest corner of KEE'S CEMETERY, Weston, Oregon. It is a pioneer cemetery located about 2 miles from Weston in a wheat field above the town. It is now surrounded by a cyclone fence after years of vandelism. Proof of Samuel's and Melissa's burial sites are supplied by a chart of the cemetery made before the vandalism occurred. The cemetery location is T4N RSSE Sec. 28. It was established in 1875 and is one acre in size. Samuel married Rachel A. Wilson 13 Feb. 1859 in Page County, Iowa. Rachel is buried at Pioneer Cemetery, Hillsboro, Oregon ( d. 1919 ). Samuel Kelsy Davison's death date was established through Washington County, Oregon estate documents. Rachel, his wife, filed for an estate claim Jan. 31, 1911. She also filed to become the administratrix of the estate. Samuel had left no will. Samuel was the son of Wayne Davidson who was the sixth child of Samuel and Elizabeth Callahan Davidson. He was married to Dorcus Combs, and later, Nancy Brown. Wayne and Dorcus had children: Samuel Kelsey Davison m. Rachel Ann Wilson ( my 2xgreat grandparents ) Elizabeth Ann Davison m. Navy & that he was in Liverpool during the war& he took leave & went to Ballymena. Most of this information comes from a letter from Douglas While @ 64 Hylton Ave. South Shields in Aug 1948. This leter also mentions that they might move to Canada?? David is a brother to Charles, Agnes, Elizabeth & Sarah. David's where abouts & his family are the last of my search for this family as I have been in contact with all other living relatives except his to make the family complete. 3. You have some common names in my links to the Davidson name. My 3rd great grandmother was Nancy Ellen Davidson b. 1858 in IN probably in Franklin Co. Her father was Richard Davidson b.1814 in Greene Co., OH and he married Evaline Applegate b.1815 KY. Nancy married Peter in 1874 in Franklin Co. IN but on the Hunter line is a Lewis Edmundson and a Hunter married a Musser in Dearborn Co., IN. Wonder if there is a connection???? I do not know Richard Davidson's parents names but know they came from OH to IN when Richard was young. Would love to compare names and dates if you wish. Thanks for your time.
