Hi Ruth, I know some of the names that you are looking for. Jerry Davidson (<A HREF="mailto:D Tulloch">D Tulloch</A> @aol.com) may can help you more than I can at this point. I just got his program and have just started looking it over. I know that some of those names are there. As for the Cherokee. My Husband great grandmother Missouri (Daughter of William Davidson & Margaret Wadsworth) was 1/2 Cherokee as far as I know of right now. Who was Purity 's father & mother? I don't have them in my file yet. Thanks for getting in touch with me , I love finding new familymembers on my Husbands side, as I just found his family Davidson line about 2 months ago. Charity Goodwin (Charlie)
I read your post with your husbands family on it. Most of the Surnames were names I was told to look for by my father. He gave me very few first names. I was also told that I was part Cherokee on both my mother and my father's side. This is my line: Purity Davidson b 1800 in NC +Dean Rogers b 1786 in NH They had 4 known children that were named: 1. Zelpha Rogers b1828 TN + Lewis Henry Davidson b 1826 TN 2. Nancy Rogers b 1831 TN +Joe Lasiter 3. John Rogers 1833 TN + Mary Jane Lassiter + Rilla Kirkland + Sarah (Sally) Ann Garrett-Clark + Matilda Crane 4. Susannah Mariah Rogers b 1835 TN +William Lasiter Susannah Mariah Rogers, daughter of Dean Rogers and Purity Davidson Rogers, is my great, great grandmother. She and Wm. Lasiter had 16 Children. Number 13, Sarah Clemantine Lasiter is my great grandmother. Sarah Clemantine Lasiter b 1873 MO + Dr. Alexander Stephens Hawkins b 1851 GA The only child of Sara C. (Lasiter) Hawkins and Alex S. Hawkins was Ruth Elizabeth Hawkins. She was my grandmother. Ruth E. Hawkins b. 1893 MO +Wm. Campbell Kates b 1892 NJ The first living child of Ruth E. Hawkins and Wm C. Kates was my mother, Mildred Eleanor Kates. Mildred E. Kates b 1915 OK + Wm. Rupert Kinney b 1907 MO W. R. Kinney and Mildred E. (Kates) Kinney are my parents. I know that only the Davidson family name is in my genealogy here but I am still wondering if the names that are familiar to me have a connection. Do you have any Ideas about it. I know for sure that there are Grant, Russell, Thedford, Horton and Hampton in this Purity Davidson line. Ruth Kinney Townsley Ruth Kinney Townsley

I believe that Hollis had posted the most about this Davidson family who came out of VA and moved down into Anson Co. NC. Your line may not connect, but enjoyed reading about your peach brandy history in your family, and then I posted under you and not Hollis. I too use to live in VA and in the Fall you could drive down the mountain roads and get a whiff of "peach brandy" in the air. It was the tonic of that area in VA. We loved living in VA and the people there are unique and very interesting. Sorry for the confusion. Tina

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/FNR.2ACEB/1970.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: It's been a delight reading your postings ( both Hollis and Phillip ). My mother was a Davidson, and I am trying to research the Anson Co. NC Daniel Davidson who is on the 1790 and 1800 Census there. Yes, I too have noticed that it is a duplicate entry for Daniel on one of those two census, just as it was for some of my Rogers, and my cousin's too have noticed duplication entries on the Anson Census for other lines also. Any information that either of you can tell me about Daniel Davidson who was son of John Davison/Davidson of VA would be appreciated. I am aware that Ambrose, George, and perhaps others besides Daniel Davidson all moved from VA down into Anson or Montgomery Co. NC. I do have Daniel on a petition of Anson, I believe in about 1800, and a cousin of mine also found a deed in Anson with a Daniel Davidson, Sr. listed, which would lead me to believe that there had to be a Daniel Davidson, Jr. ( who would have been grandson of John Davidson of VA. and Ann Sonn! s or Sonners, I believe. I am interested to know names of Daniel Davidson and Nancy Davison's children. As they moved into Anson Co. NC before the 1790 Census, then perhaps they had a son Daniel Davidson, JR. who also lived in Anson Co. NC and I am in hopes of finding information on JR. and his wife and children. As Anson is a very difficult county to research, I am open to suggestions, as all I have are the two census reports of Anson ( 1790 - 9 in household; 1800 - Daniel and a slave in household ) and the one petition with a Daniel Davidson listed ( think it is 1800 ), and the deed my cousin found with the name of a Daniel Davidson, Sr. of Anson Co. NC. Any further help would be appreciated. Really need a list of children for both Daniel Sr. and Jr. ( if there was one, and as Daniel of Anson may have been listed as Sr. on the Anson Co. land deed, then I assumed there to be a Jr living in Anson Co. NC too. ) Tina Rogers Beller e-mail: jkpb3@bellsouth.net

PIONEER FAMILIES OF MISSOURI Shirley, thank you. This is my family, and the very reason why we should all be more careful about what we put in the history books. I am truly grateful Bryan & Rose did the story, as it is one we would never have known. It's almost impossible to change history. If anyone else is related to this family, the name is DAVISON. Andrew DAVISON b. 1788 Nelson/Lincoln Co., KY, went to Missouri in 1811 (to help his sister and brother-in-law Jenny DAVISON & Amos BURDYNE move and build a home). He left in 1813 (went back to Washington Co., KY) to marry his cousin Sarah (Sally) GRAHAM 26 Jan. 1814. Andrew DAVISON & Sarah GRAHAM's mothers were Susannah JACKSON & Jane JACKSON, maybe that is where the (JOHNSON mistake came about). Green Berry DAVISON is my gt.grandfather.
