    1. [DAVIDSON-L] DAVIDSON - BALLARD/ BOONE / SIMMONDS (COSSEY / WOOD)
    2. Freeston
    3. Hi Davidson researchers, Just wondering if anyone connects with the following Davidson family - BETHNAL GREEN, MDX originally Ireland. Look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Carol Freeston NSW Australia Modified Register for Alexander DAVIDSON First Generation 1. Alexander DAVIDSON was born in Ireland? He died in 1841-1851 in Bethnal Green. Alternatively a plumber or painter. Birth of Arthur and marriage of James show plumber. 1841 census shows painter. An age of 35 years is given on the 1841 census, as for his wife Jane, who gives her age as 48 on the 1851 census and is listed as a widow. Alexander presumably died between 1841 and 1851, and was probably born in the early in the first decade of 1800. On the 1841 census the letter under birthplace looks like an 'I' for Ireland. The 1851 Index shows there is a James DAVIDSON age 20 years, born St _Matthew Parish Bethnal Green, accompanied by Jane age 48, born _Suffolk, Arthur age 12, Henry age 15, John age 17, Mary Ann age 10, _William age 22, (all born St Matthew BG). These are to be found at _PRO HO107 Piece 1539 (SD Hackney Road) folio 647 Alexander married Jane BALLARD . Jane was born in 1803 in Polstead, Suffolk. They had the following children: 2 M i. William DAVIDSON was born in 1829 in Bethnal Green. + 3 M ii. James Ballard DAVIDSON was born in 1832. 4 M iii. John DAVIDSON was born in 1834 in Bethnal Green. 5 M iv. Henry DAVIDSON was born in 1836 in Bethnal Green. 6 M v. Arthur DAVIDSON was born on 26 Oct 1838 in 2 Hare Row, Bethnal Green. 7 F vi. Mary Ann DAVIDSON was born in 1841 in Bethnal Green. Second Generation 3. James Ballard DAVIDSON (Alexander) was born in 1832 in Bethnal Green. At the birth of Henry the family was living at 21 Melissa Place, South Hackney. Henry was a zinc worker. In both the 1881 and 1891 census returns the family is living at 62 Sheep Lane in South Hackney. James married Eliza Frances BOONE daughter of Robert Alexander BOONE and Frances (BOONE) on 25 Dec 1853 in St Phillip's Parish Curch, Bethnal Green. Eliza was born in 1835 in Whitechapel/Stepney, Middlesex. She was christened on 3 May 1835 in St George in the East, Stepney. The 1881 census gives the birthplace as Whitechapel and the 1891 gives a birthpalce of Stepney. James and Eliza had the following children: + 8 F i. Eliza Emma DAVIDSON was born in 1857. 9 M ii. James DAVIDSON was born in 1868 in Hackney, Middlesex. 10 F iii. Mary Ann DAVIDSON was born in 1872 in Hackney, Middlesex. Mary married George William WOOD in Sep 1893 in Hackney. + 11 M iv. Henry DAVIDSON was born 31(sic) April, 1875. Third Generation 8. Eliza Emma DAVIDSON (James Ballard, Alexander) was born in 1857 in ?Hackney. Eliza married George COSSEY in Dec 1876 in Bethnal Green. George was born in 1851 in Shoreditch, Middlesex. George and Eliza had the following children: 12 F i. Eliza Emma COSSEY was born in Dec 1877 in Hackney. 13 F ii. Jessie COSSEY was born in 1880 in Hackney. 11. Henry DAVIDSON (James Ballard, Alexander) was born 31(sic) April, 1875 in 21 Milissa(Milina) Place, South Hackney. Henry married Catherine Ann SIMMONDS daughter of Edward SIMMONDS and Catherine Elizabeth Ann MCCARTHY. Catherine was born on 14 Apr 1878 in 57 Templar Road, Hackney.

    1. [DAVIDSON-L] John T. Davidson - 1800's - Louisiana
    2. Greetings from the Netherlands. I am searching for information on John T. Davidson who married Peter Ann Ivy in Caddo Parish, Louisiana on Jan. 21, 1857. I have tried to locate them thru the 1860 Federal census, but have been unsuccessful. I have no further information such as where or when he was born, or the names of his parents or children. Any help or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. We are somewhat hampered in doing research from another country. Cordially, Susan Scott
