Handwriting is that of Ethel Patterson Hopkins, whose mother would have been similar in age to Kate. That assumes the Kate I find in 1880 and 1860 is the same one as in the photo. Ethel and her mother grew up in Butler Township, Richland County, Ohio, and that is where I looked for a Davidson family. Though it is possible there's one in a nearby township, I offer as one possibility for Kate's identity as that of daughter of Peter Davidison and first wife Margaret (wife in 1880 is Elsie). P and M born Scotland. Children all born Ohio. In 1860: Peter is 50, Margaret 48 Children: John - 22, Sarah - 20, Catharine 15 - a seamstress and called Kate in 1880, William -13, James -10. I do not find any Davidsons as relatives to my husband's lines. However, it's possible there's a connection in Scotland. Many Scots came to this area from Aberdeenshire. Photo attached for the benefit of Davidson researchers.
Could you please give us more information on Elizabeth Hack Davidson. Where she was living in 1930, who she was living with, how old was she in 1930, & what state was she born in. That would help us to do more research on her. Hi, I have watched emails from this forum with interest over the past years but have never seen correspondence relating to Davison's heralding from Northern Ireland. If anyone has any info relating to Davison's living in the Randalstown area (Drummaul Parish) during the mid 1800's i would be very interested to hear from them. The relevant townlands are: Lenagh Ballylurgan My ancestors are: James Davison (Farmer- Ballylurgan) (b. unknown, probably c.1800-1830) son: Alexander Davison b.1851/2 (Farmer - Lenagh - died 1919 Thompson Care Home, Antrim) Grandson: Bernard Davison b. 1883 Antrim Granddaughter: Annie Davison b. 1884 Antrim Alexander's first wife (Margaret McCann) died in 1890 and the whole family moved to East Belfast where Alexander re-married (Elizabeth Winter(s)) and they had 5 more children (including my grandfather - Robert 1904) Many thanks Patrick Davison

I've transcribed John's will but can't find where I filed the photocopy to double check it right now. This is the best I could come up with; I tried to keep the original spelling. I also have Abraham's pension and will work on transcribing it. Will of John Davison of Halifax Co., VA In the name of God amen. Ruth [email protected] wrote: I have some stuff photocopied to mail you. I have David's address, but not Bill's. These materials concern Samuel H. Davidson's (b1795) grandparents John and Hannah Davidson of Halifax/Pittsylvania Co Va. They include the will and probate. Hannah remarried and then disposed of some of the land. They mention the children including our ancestor Abraham. Its also worth noting their neighbor was Samuel Harris, a well known local. The Jeremiah's fork of Birches Creek is still recognized. A housing development called "The Plantation at Birches Creek" is going up there now. I'm also attaching a work in progress: the attempted deciphering of SHD's father's (Abraham Davidson's) rev. war pension applications. The pertinent documents are on "heritage questonline.com" which I accessed at the NYC public library. Its difficult to read so a photocopy is useless. I'd love it if someone else also gave this a try. The italicized parts are other applications I found on the web from folks with similar service. The paragraph pertinent to genealogy is fairly clear. I have no idea where the actual original is (Nashville, Camden?) There are also some documents concerning a John Davison of Bertie Co NC and his son John. The one which is a recording of a gift of land from Sr. to his "only son John" is the (as far as I know) only pertinent connection to suggest that John of Sr. of Bertie is SHD's great grandfather. The related documents seem to indicate to me John Sr. had subsequent children and redivided the land. I will next start to copy some stuff about relations around Camden Tn in the 1800's and send that at a later date. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

Hi jet, i do not have any info on the John Davidson with wife Susan Askins, 2nd wife Susanna Jackson and Child Edward, born 1779. I do have info on John Davidson of Tinkling Springs, VA. My John Davidson and wife Jane with their children migrated first to Augusta County, Virginia, now Rockbridge County. The first land surveyed for John was in Beverly Manor in May of 1738 on Christian Creek. By June 5, 1739 he had bought 785 acres. On February 18, 1747 he sold 485 acres of the Beverly Manor land and 350 acres of land on Buffalo Creek that runs into the upper portion of James River. Jane had also signed these land sales when they took place. Elizabeth and her sister Margaret and her brother John were all born while living there in Virginia. Elizabeth had been baptized April 19, 1741 by Rev. John Craig at Tinkling Spring. She was the first of John and Jane's children to be born on American soil. E-mail me direct for more info if needed. Jet, Saw your post. There is most definately a John Davison in Kentucky during the years 1808 to 1818. He took a mortgage on a farm, equipment, stock and slaves from my 4th grgrandfather, Thomas Davison of Barren County. The mortgage was released about 10 years later. The mortgage recites that John was a resident of Hardin County, but the counties were in a big state of flux between 1780 and 1820. Hardin in 1808 comprised 4 or 5 counties of today. I also have record of Virginia land grants to a John Davison. This John was also in the company of a Hannah, a Lane or Jane, and a woman name Jane Davison who married Charles Lewis around 1816 in Glasgow, and then moved to Tennessee. What became of this John I do not know, but Breckenridge County (formerly a part of Hardin) shows Davisons through 1850. My Thomas lived in Barren County, but was very strict about spelling his name without the second "d" although every census taker put it in. We have the 12 marker DNA on this line, and are awaiting the broader scope. I would love to connect this John with anyone. David P.
