My ggggrandfather was John Davidson of Madison Cty, KY. He married Rachel Cooper Kincaide in Madison Cty, in 1813. It's very possible that we are of the same line. Unfortunately, this John is as far back as I've been able to go. We have no record of who is parents or siblings were. Although he did name his children John Kincaide, Alexander Steele, James A., Andrew Cooper, and a daughter Florinda. His next generation through John K. was Samuel Alexander, Leander Augustus, Florinda, James Oscar (my ggf), and Mary Ann. I also have the descendants of J.O.'s other children. Do any of these names sound familiar? Has any male in your line joined the DNA study? My father who is 93 has and his # is 63783. 3. Hi, I descend from Garrard County/Lincoln County Davidsons. (Abner of Garrard County).Do you know if anyone desecended from George of Lincoln County has submitted their DNA? Some old family notes suggested that Abners father James was a brother of George (and a James is on the 1790 tax list).. but the author may have been speculating, with no evidence but proximity! My kit number is 22015 (I think -- family #7) Orren ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2006 4:18 PM Subject: Re: [DAVIDSON] John Davison > > > In a message dated 9/27/2006 3:59:02 P.M. 3. Kathy John Davison married Susanna Jackson on January 22 1784 in Lincoln Co. Ky. ( I have a copy of this marriage, and it is also on Ky. Marriage site.) He may not have stayed in Lincoln Co...we think he came on over to Washington Co.Ky and raised his family there...Need much more proof on this gentleman,if you can find it. 1. [DAVIDSON] New Book: Heritage of Transylvania County, North Carolina Vol II
    2. Some of Transylvania County's families have Davidson roots. Please visit the Transylvania Genealogy Group's heritage book website at: http://www.nccountyheritage.com/ to learn all about this project. And do come to the community meetings if you can! http://www.nccountyheritage.com/ TransylvanCoGenList the Transylvania Genealogy Group is excited to announce the formal kick-off of the new heritage book for Transylvania County. A new history of the county is long overdue! In the ten years that have passed since the first book was published in 1995, a mountain of quality research has greatly expanded knowledge of our families and the general history of the county. While the first book was quite good, today we have the ability to create a fabulous work of family and general county history that greatly eclipses the successes of volume I -- expanding and even correcting data in the first volume. The Transylvania Genealogy Group is delighted for the opportunity to lead in creating this new county history and actively seeks the involvement, participation, and support of the entire community, including descendants of Transylvania County families spread across the nation today. Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate! On Monday, October 16 the community-wide heritage book informational meetings begin in downtown Brevard at the Chamber of Commerce building at 35 West Main Street. Our publisher, Don Mills of County Heritage Inc./Walsworth Publishing, will conduct the meetings. For convenience, we'll hold the first meeting at 1:00 p.m. and the second at 6:00 p.m., allowing everyone to get in on the meetings that are sure to be well attended. The meetings will provide everything needed to get started compiling and writing articles. Printed materials will be given out. All individuals, families, churches, schools, organizations, institutions, and even businesses in the county are invited to attend to learn how to participate. The Transylvania Genealogy Group has just opened the heritage book website where you can download a PDF version of the book project brochure that includes everything you need to get started, including sample articles, an order form to buy a book, and a submission form to turn in your article(s). Please visit the Transylvania Genealogy Group's heritage book website at: http://www.nccountyheritage.com/ to learn all about this project. And do come to the community meetings if you can! 1. [DAVIDSON] SE KY Davidsons: any bio detail on Daniel Davidson who married Sarah Jane Duff?
    2. K E
    3. Greetings, I'm wondering if anyone has any insights into the life of Daniel Davidson (born about 1814 to Samuel Davidson and Elizabeth Callahan) who married Sarah Jane (d/o John Alexander Duff and Mary Polly Combs) about 1840, and resided in Perry County Kentucky. He died there on 24 Dec 1896. Census data from 1860 suggests he was a farmer, but I'm wondering if anyone might have further biographical details about this gentleman. His wife was the daughter of a judge and Perry County's first surveyor. Thank you for any help you might be able to provide. Best regards, Kenneth --------------------------------- How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.

His children all came to Carlisle, Indiana and settled. Mary Hunter Holloway was daughter of Jacob Hunter and were from Rowan Co., N.C. This is part of my family and think some of the Davidsons eloped to Cincinnati area to marry. My main interest is Daniel Davidson and wife Mary Enochs. Can't find their marriage record and suspect Cincinnati might have the answer. Interesting also is that every generation had a son named George. Please answer me at my e-mail address.
