    1. [DAVIDSON] Augustus Lafayette Davidson
    2. I would like to contact people related to Augustus Lafayette and Sarah Elizabeth Richards Davidson. They lived in Newton County, GA. The father of Augustus was Robert Davidson -- married to Elizabeth Mitchell. Robert's father was John Davidson (Revolutionary Solider) of Jasper County, GA. John Davidson was my ggggrandfather. Robert Davidson and my great great grandfather were brothers. My great great grandfather was David Davidson. David was born 1808 in Jasper County, GA -- but raised his family in Troup County, GA. Actually, David named a son Augustus Lafayette Davidson. He was born in 1839, but died very young in 1843. According to information found from a November 1875 Atlanta Constitution newspaper, Judge A. L. Davidson of Conyers lost his wife Sarah Davidson. My records show that Sarah Elizabeth Richards Davidson died November 28, 1875. Does anyone know if this is the same family? 1. [DAVIDSON] Searching for Robert Davidson - born 1865
    2. Dear Davidson researchers. HELP NEEDED!! I have never been able to locate Robert Emmett Davidson on any census with William R. and Mary M. Davidson of Chamber County, AL and Troup or Harris County, GA. They had six children -- Robert is one of them. The other five children are accounted for in census records. Robert E. was born about 1865. I have found him listed in later census records when he was a man, but I have not seen him listed as living with his mother and father when he was a young boy. In many Atlanta Constitution newspaper articles from the late 1800s to the early 1900s he is referred to as son, brother, etc. of the above family. However, I am beginning to wonder if he was an adopted son -- from another Davidson family. I am taking a different approach to this search. If anyone has a Robert Davidson born about 1865 in Alabama or Georgia, would you please email me. Maybe I should broaden the search to other states, since I cannot find William and Mary Davidson in any 1870 Alabama or Georgia census. So -- if you have a Robert Davidson born in 1865 -- would love to hear from you with the details. Thanks, Anna Gayle

    2. The below information is about my great grandfather, William R. Davidson, and his children. Please let me hear from you, if you see a connection. William R. Davidson's parents were David and Susan Caroline Davidson of Troup County, Georgia. I do not know the maiden name of Susan Caroline (Carrie). However, I have been told that Elizabeth Henderson is the given and maiden name of the mother of Susan Caroline. William R. Davidson's grandfather was John Davidson of Jasper, Co Georgia. John was born in Pennsylvania -- moved to Union District, South Carolina as a boy. After the Revolution, he moved to Georgia. His wife is unknown. Note: DNA Davidson tests confirm this Davidson family is directly related to William and Samuel Davidson from Union District, South Carolina. William, Samuel and John Davidson were brothers. John left South Carolina for Georgia. William and Samuel left South Carolina and settled in Mt. Zion, IL. William and Samuel married same named cousins -- both Elizabeth Mayes. WILLIAM R. 1. [DAVIDSON] Josiah Davidson-VA, TN and then Limestone Co., AL
    2. Bill Davidson
    3. Josiah Davidson died fairly young in Limestone Co., AL in 1825. At least two of his earlier children were born in TN, and at least one of his later children was born in AL (per the 1850...and later...Limestone Co., AL censuses). Does anyone know where in TN this Josiah Davidson lived before he moved to AL? Note: it does not APPEAR that the Josiah Davidson who was in Dickson Co., TN in 1820 was this Josiah Davidson. It seems almost certain that this Josiah Davidson (who was married to Elizabeth Hardiman from Buckingham Co., VA) was the son of an older Josiah Davidson of Buckingham Co., VA. That older Josiah Davidson married Rebecca Giles on 25 Dec 1788, and he was the son of David Davidson (died about 1798 in Buckingham Co., VA) and his apparent wife Mary Giles. Note: Mary's ASSUMED maiden name is based on the names of her children, which included Giles Davidson and Josiah Davidson. There was a man named Josiah Giles in the Giles family in the Buckingham area. Thanks, Bill Davidson

Alvoree was back in Christian Co., Mo., in May 1854 when he married Nancy Duncan, daughter of Micajah and Nancy Duncan. In June 1854, a jury decided in favor of the lawyer and ordered payment and court costs in the amount of $104.18 from Levi's estate. This is what she has told me about Alvoree and Nancy, as told by her mother: Alvoree was a school teacher. He made his own books since there was a scarcity of them. I think he helped with the organization of Christian Co., since he could read and write well. He and Nancy came down with a fever and died within a few days of each other. They were buried in a field, north of Ozark, off NN Hwy. In later years, their tombstones were set in concrete. All the children were raised by their Grandmother Nancy Duncan and Aunt Celia Duncan. The older women would sit up nights and make cloth for clothes for all the children. It was very tough for them. Alvoree had quite the flair for choosing his children's names.
