Dear Earliene, I think you may have mixed up two families here. I have found some info that identifies another William as the son of William Davenport of Richmond County and Elizabeth Wood. Your William and Comfort were married in Accomack county, which is on the eastern shore of VA, on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay from Richmond County. Where did you find your info? Would you like some of what I have on the Richmond County Davenports? I don't really know anything about your William & Comfort, except that his Revolutionary War file is at the National Archives and it may tell you where he was born. Carol
