For Carolyn James Davenport was one of ten known children who was born to Francis Davenport and his first wife, name unknown, who had migrated from Granville Co., NC to what is now Newberry Co., SC by 1771. Hezekiah P. Waldrop 9. Francis Davenport b. ca. 1767 10. Nancy Davenport m. David Waldrop Francis Davenport was married a second time to a Mrs. Mary Turner, widow of William Turner, around 1794.
