Davenport, Martha Edwards, Martin W. Davenport, Catherine F. North. Exec. wife Rebecca and son Martin W. and son in law P. North Children: SARAH DAVENPORT – William Matthews BALLARD DAVENPORT 7 Dec 1803 married Mildred S. Scott, surety Richard Davenport MARY DAVENPORT mar. 22 Dec 1794 John Franklin ANN DAVENPORT 22 Dec 1809 married Edgecomb S. Lewis, daughter of Richard Davenport, surety Ballard Davenport JACK S. DAVENPORT 20 Nov 1813 mar. Lucy K. Lewis, daughter of Griffin Lewis. MARTHA DAVENPORT 15 Nov 1811 mar. Bernard Edwards, security Jack S. Davenport. MARTIN W. DAVENPORT CATHERINE F. DAVENPORT married Putnam North GLOVER DAVENPORT 20 July 1801 married Ann P. Slaughter. 24 Feb 1816 (Campbell Co., Marriages) Ann P. Davenport, widow of Glover, married Thomas A. Cobbs. 11 Jan 1819 (Campbell Co. WB4) Account of John P. Slaughter, exec. of Glover Davenport dec’d. lists payments to Thomas A. Cobb and Ann Cobbs his wife for her dower. 8 Feb 1819 (Campbell Co. WB4) Account of the heirs of Glover Davenport with Thomas A. Cobbs guardian, includes Betsey A. P. Davenport, Elizabeth Davenport, Richard G. Davenport, Susanna Davenport and payments to Betsey Ann Davenport, Charles Davenport, Richard Davenport, Susanna Davenport, Elizabeth Davenport and also pmts. to Betsey Ann Willborn and Robert S. Wilborn. The children of Glover Davenport include Betsey Ann P. Wilborn, Elizabeth Davenport, Richard G. Davenport, Susanna Davenport, and Charles Davenport. The three girls and two boys, children of Glover Davenport and wife Anne Slaughter, as shown in the 1819 estate account more closely match the 1810 census return in Pr. Edward Co. than the one in Campbell Co. Glover Davenport is on Pr. Edward Co. personal property tax lists beginning in 1810 through 1814. He is not on the land tax lists. 1810 (Pr. Edward Co. Census) – Glover Davenport 11001-40010 1810 (Campbell Co., Va. Census) Glover Davenport 00010-00500 Glover Davenport must have died sometime in 1815 as wife Anne remarried in Feb 1816. Since Glover disappears from the Pr. Edward tax lists in 1815 and does not show up there again, I propose that this is Glover Davenport son of Richard of Charlotte. If that is the case then who is the Glover in Campbell in 1810? What happened to David’s son Glover?
