In the action of detinue between CHARLES HOLLOWAY plt. and Edward Hazle def….came the parties by their attorneys…jury impanelled…verdict. We find that the plt. several times before the marriage of his daughter Anne declared but not to the def. Hazle that he would give his sd. daughter one or two negros, but mentioned no slaves by name…sd. Anne also sd. several times before marriage that the sd. slave Lucy was her sister Polley’s….slave Lucy was in possession of Anne after her marriage to Hazle….sd.
